What makes a good bilingual employment attorney? 什么因素让双语劳动法律师成为好律师?
As an employment attorney, besides master of solid skills and rich knowledge in common legal matters, he or she is supposed to have all special knowledge about labor and employment laws and regulations, and possess the proffessional skills in handling employment and labor matters,. Employment attorneys begin to play more and more important roles in human resource management in China.
I begin to practice mainly focusing on the area of employment and labor law since 2002 and accumulated rich experience, witnessing the dramatical change to the system of China's labor and employment. I started to pay attention to bilingual employment law service since 2007 when I am aware of the fact that it is hard for foreign friends in China to find a lawyer who is specializing in employment and labor law and able to use English as working language. I gave series lectures on Employment Contract Law of PRC, drafted, reviewed and revised labor contracts, employee handbooks and company's bylaws for clients, and represented clients in dealing labor disputes involving foreign elements.
According to my own experience, three factors, namely professional knowledge and skills in employment and labor law, solid hold of English and cross -culture communication make a good bilingual employment attorney. The three factors makes it difficult for foreign friends to find a good bilingual employment attorney.
So far, I, as a bilingual employment attorney, have developed in-depth skills and accumulated rich experience in providing Chinese-English- delivered employment law service, which will in return make me a better bilingual employment attorney.
